Android 15+

Scan. Save. Share.

A small document scanner that opens straight into capture and keeps file management out of the way.

Only the useful parts.

The main path stays short. Detailed saving and sharing choices remain in Settings.

Direct capture

Open ScanIt and the Google ML Kit scanner starts without a landing-page button.

Clean documents

Automatic capture, edge detection, crop, rotation, filters, shadow removal, and cleanup run in the scanner flow.

PDF or images

Create single-page or multi-page output, then share or print it through Android.

Recent scans

Return to up to eight bounded temporary working copies without adding a permanent document database.

Saving controls

Choose automatic PDF and Gallery saving and, if needed, select a PDF folder with Android's folder picker.

Quiet by design

No account, ads, subscription, first-party analytics, cloud document library, or public cloud processing.

Three steps.

  1. Capture

Photograph one or more pages and review the automatic crop and enhancement.

  2. Check

See the result and keep the saving behavior you already chose in Settings.

  3. Share

Send the PDF or images to a compatible app, or open Android's print service.

Common questions.

Does ScanIt upload my documents?

No scanned document content is sent to a maintainer-operated server. Google says ML Kit processes scanner input on-device. ML Kit does process limited diagnostic and usage telemetry; the details are in the Privacy Policy.

Why does it use Google Play services?

Google Play services supplies the document scanner UI, models, automatic capture, crop, and filters. The module may need to download or update before first use.

Are Recent scans permanent?

No. They are bounded temporary working copies and Android may clear them. Removing one from Recent removes that working copy. If ScanIt can verify the exact saved outputs it created, the confirmation dialog can also delete the selected PDF, Gallery images, or both.

Does uninstalling ScanIt remove saved files?

Uninstall clears ScanIt's settings and private cache. It does not delete PDFs or images already saved in shared storage or a folder you selected.

Is the public repository open source?

No. Current code is source-visible under proprietary terms. Unmodified official binaries may be installed and used. Historical copies already released under MIT keep their original MIT grant.
