Clean documents
Google's scanner provides automatic capture, cropping, rotation and filters. Local cleanup is available in Document Actions.
PDF or images
Create single-page or multi-page output, then share or print it through Android.
Recent scans
Return to up to eight bounded temporary working copies without adding a permanent document database.
Saving controls
Choose automatic PDF and Gallery saving and, if needed, select a PDF folder with Android's folder picker.
Quiet by design
No SeliaScan account, first-party analytics, or cloud document library. Ordinary scanning stays on-device. The stable GitHub edition has no ads or Premium; the separately maintained Google Play edition does.
Useful local actions
Extract selectable text from every page or detect QR codes and barcodes on the current page with on-device models delivered by Google Play services. A model may download before first use.

Common questions.
Does SeliaScan upload my documents?
SeliaScan has no document-upload server. Scanning, OCR and cleanup are local. A sharing app or cloud-backed Gallery or folder can upload saved copies. Optional playback passes text to your Android speech engine, which may use the internet after you confirm. See the privacy policy.
How does document cleanup work?
Smart cleanup adjusts paper contrast and attempts to remove likely marks near blank paper edges. Manual cleanup replaces spots that you draw around with the surrounding paper color. Both run locally and create a child revision. Keep originals and review the result.
Why does it use Google Play services?
Google Play services supplies the document scanner UI, models, automatic capture, crop, and filters. The module may need to download or update before first use.
Are Recent scans permanent?
No. They are bounded temporary working copies and Android may clear them. Removing one from Recent removes that working copy. If SeliaScan can verify the exact saved outputs it created, the confirmation dialog can also delete the selected PDF, Gallery images, or both.
Does uninstalling SeliaScan remove saved files?
Uninstall clears SeliaScan's settings and private cache. It does not delete PDFs or images already saved in shared storage or a folder you selected.
Is the public repository open source?
Yes. The stable GitHub source and binary are licensed under the MIT License. The separately maintained Google Play edition may include advertising, Billing, and Premium features.
